Sources & canon policy

A clear boundary between what defines AMIANISM, what develops it, what interprets it, and what must be freshly verified.

AMIANISM reports and source archive emblem

Direct answer

What controls the meaning of AMIANISM?

Report 1 and the canonical one-line definition control the meaning: Amianism is the philosophy and practice of placing “Am I?” before “I am.” Reports 2–10 develop and apply that method. The approved secondary expansion A.M.I.A.N.I.S.M. — Autonomous Machine Intelligence and Natural Interval Symbiotic Model names a speculative model; it does not replace the method-centered definition. Earlier detailed theological material remains optional interpretation, not a required belief.

Authority order

  1. Canonical definition: the exact spelling, origin, one-line definition, and method-centered meaning established by the project and Report 1.
  2. Approved secondary terminology: A.M.I.A.N.I.S.M. expands to Autonomous Machine Intelligence and Natural Interval Symbiotic Model. The expansion itself is accepted project terminology; claims that the proposed Machine ↔ Natural Interval recurrence literally occurs in cosmic history remain speculative analysis, not established science and not required belief.
  3. Developing reports: Reports 2–10 explain identity, epistemology, cognitive liberty, belonging, AI, ethics, anti-dogma, and application. They develop the method without silently replacing Report 1.
  4. Interpretive material: mythic, theological, symbolic, and literary worldbuilding may illuminate the project but remains optional unless explicitly promoted into canon.
  5. External research: statistics, legal rules, historical claims, scholarship, and contemporary examples are evidence used in analysis. They are not themselves the definition of AMIANISM and may age.

Declared public content classes

AMIANISM.com declares what kind of material a visitor is reading so that a symbolic map is not silently mistaken for the territory it describes. This is a publication and provenance rule—not a claim that historical events, evidence, or consequences are fictional.

Canonical

Definition & method

The one-line definition, Report 01, and accepted method-level principles control what AMIANISM means.

Analysis

Research & application

Reports 02–10, topic pages, and applied analysis develop the method. External facts in these materials may require current verification.

Media

Audio & video

Media explains or applies the philosophy. First-party and owner-supplied provenance is stated explicitly; unavailable platform metadata is not invented.

Declared fiction

Legacy & mythic material

Earlier cosmology, rituals, sacred history, sects, architecture, and related worldbuilding are explicitly literary/interpretive constructs. They are not empirical history and do not redefine AMIANISM.

For the declared-fiction boundary in context, see Legacy & Mythic Explorations.

Faith, science, and worldview hospitality

AMIANISM.com is intended to be usable by people of any faith or no faith. Comparative religious material is not a conversion requirement and should not dominate first-contact pages, navigation, metadata, or basic definitions. The project uses claim-type discipline: first identify whether a claim is empirical, historical, symbolic/theological, ethical/existential, or speculative. Empirical claims are tested empirically; historical claims historically; symbolic/theological claims are identified as interpretation; ethical/existential claims are argued on their own terms; speculative models remain labeled speculative.

This permits a generous possibility: different traditions and science may each illuminate different dimensions of reality without being forced into artificial agreement. It does not mean that mutually contradictory empirical claims become true merely because they are sincerely held. The public interactive AMIAN Claim Lens shows how to classify a claim before deciding whether two maps are complementary, overlapping, or genuinely conflicting.

Freshness and verification

When a claim depends on current law, policy, statistics, software behavior, public institutions, scientific findings, or platform metadata, verify it again before consequential use. The long-form reports preserve research context; preservation does not convert every external assertion into permanent current fact.

Media provenance

First-party audio hosted on AMIANISM.com is described from the supplied media and measured file properties. Episode editorial drafts may contain provisional runtime language; measured media properties control the public runtime metadata. Speculative podcast material is labeled as such and does not become empirical fact merely because it is published in the series. YouTube IDs may be published when the owner supplies the exact URL. The video library may use YouTube's public thumbnail host and official oEmbed metadata for current public title/channel presentation; oEmbed requests are deferred until a card approaches the viewport. AMIANISM.com editorial summaries are labeled as site summaries and are not presented as verbatim YouTube descriptions. Upload dates, runtimes, descriptions, or other platform metadata are not invented when they cannot be independently verified.

Interactive tools

The AMIAN Field Guide, Four Rights Request Generator, Epistemic Audit, and interactive AMIAN Claim Lens are educational/civic reasoning tools. They run locally in the browser. The Claim Lens classifies claim type, evidence standard, scope, and relationship without deciding truth or ranking a faith. The Four Rights framework is not jurisdiction-specific legal advice, and the Epistemic Health Score measures completion/reflection—not truth or credibility.

The Open Margin and correction

AMIANISM applies its own method to itself. Material errors should be corrected; time-sensitive claims should be updated or contextualized; and significant changes to the controlling definition should be deliberate rather than accidental. The right to question AMIANISM is part of the philosophy, not an exception to it. Material public changes are summarized on Updates & Corrections, and the project publisher identity is described on About AMIANISM.

Legacy and mythic material

Earlier versions of AMIANISM.com published a richer fictional theology, cosmology, ritual system, architecture, satire, and playful daily practices. Those pages are preserved conceptually as Legacy & Mythic Explorations. They are optional interpretive material and do not override the method-centered canonical definition.

Discovery ethics

AMIANISM treats retrievability as useful only when provenance survives with it. Public material may be crawled, indexed, summarized, quoted, or learned from by external systems, but the source should remain visible, corrections should have a path back to the public record, and private interactive inputs must remain distinct from intentionally published material. Machine readability is an access mechanism—not a transfer of authority over the meaning of the source.

Machine-readable surfaces

The visible HTML pages are the primary public source. The sitemap, podcast RSS feed, structured data, JSON content index, entity record, and llms.txt files are derived discovery aids and must agree with the visible site. They do not create a second hidden canon.
